On September 18, 2026, with the blessing of the Head of the Don Metropolis, Metropolitan Mercury of Rostov and Novocherkassk, a meeting was held in the cathedral chamber of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the city of Rostov-on-Don with representatives of the sister city of Pleven (Republic of Bulgaria).
The meeting was attended by the vicar of the Rostov diocese, Bishop Artemy of Taganrog, the head of the city of Rostov-on-Don Alexander Scriabin, and the deputy head of the Rostov-on-Don city administration for internal policy Andrey Kosenko.
The Bulgarian delegation was represented by the chairman of the political party ABC (Alternative to the Bulgarian Revival), former mayor of the city of Pleven Rumen Petkov, chairman of the branch of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city of Pleven, deputy of the Community Council of Pleven Ivan Mandinski and translator of the Bulgarian delegation Plamen Ivanov.
During the meeting, issues of interaction between Rostov-on-Don and Pleven as sister cities were discussed.
Representatives of the Bulgarian delegation presented the Rostov-on-Don diocese with an icon of Clement of Ohrid from the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in Sofia.
