On the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, sisters of mercy visited hospital patientstranslated

On August 19, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the church of the holy martyrs Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia. At the end of the service, the traditional blessing of grapes, apples and other fruits of the new harvest took place.

On the same day, the sisters of the Mercy Society, together with the rector of the church, Hieromonk Victorin, visited the city hospital. They walked through the departments and congratulated patients and medical workers on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The patients were given blessed apples, purchased with funds collected by donors on the eve of the holiday.

The visit to the hospital was a continuation of the many years of service of the Sisters of Mercy. Since 2020, they have been regularly helping patients at the city hospital. Every Friday, a priest also visits the hospital, providing spiritual care to willing patients.

During the holiday, the service covered several medical institutions in Blagoveshchensk and the Amur region. Priests and sisters of the “Mercy” society visited patients at city and regional hospitals, an oncology clinic, as well as the palliative department of the hospital in the village of Volkovo.
