On August 19, 2026, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Concelebrating with His Holiness in the host of archpastors was Bishop John of Shuisky and Teikovsky. During the service, the consecration of the clergyman of the Shuya diocese, Archimandrite Evfimy (Kulikov) as Bishop of Anadyr and Chukotka took place. The newly ordained hierarch was elected to episcopal service by the decision of the Holy Synod of July 16, 2026 (magazine No. 50).

On the evening before August 18, 2026, on the eve of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, Bishop John of Shuisky and Teikovsky took part in the all-night vigil, which His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' celebrated in the Cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Before the polyeleos, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church led the meeting of the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimythous.

I am happy for Father Euthymius, now Bishop of Anadyr. I wonder how he will fare there in Chukotka - the climate is completely different than ours in the Ivanovo region. And the ark with Saint Spyridon is always so touching; it’s good that Vladika John was able to be at both the liturgy and the all-night vigil.

It’s good that Vladyka John had time for both the all-night vigil and the liturgy. I am glad for Father Evfimy, now the Bishop of Anadyr - a man from our Shuya diocese, I know him from the Ivanovo region. The climate in Chukotka is really harsh, we will pray that the Lord will strengthen us.

Yes, it will be interesting how Bishop Eufimij will manage in Chukotka, from our forests and rivers right to the ice. I remember when Archimandrite Euphimius served with us in Shuya, there were many gathered at the liturgy. It's good that Bishop Ioann was at both the vigil and the Liturgy, at least one of ours was there.
