Extracurricular activities began at the Orthodox gymnasium in Achinsktranslated

On September 15, extracurricular classes on the Fundamentals of the Orthodox Faith resumed at the Preobrazhenskaya Primary Orthodox Gymnasium in the city of Achinsk. They are led by the full-time priest of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the city of Achinsk, Priest Artemy Katyushkin. At the meetings, schoolchildren study the basics of religious doctrine, understand the meaning of Orthodox holidays and get acquainted with gospel stories. The club will continue to operate throughout the academic year.

Also, a new extracurricular activity program, “Paper Theatre,” began operating at the gymnasium. Students will create heroes out of paper, assign roles and prepare performances based on good fairy tales, parables and short stories. Activities help develop imagination, fine motor skills and the ability to work in a team.

In addition, second graders attended a library lesson on the topic “Library and Books.” The children learned how the library space works, what a book collection, a subscription and a reader's form are.
