Igumena Taisia lived in the 18th and early 19th centuries. She came from a simple background and did not know how to read until she was 40, but she managed to found and build a large monastery—the first in Ekaterinburg and the only women's monastery on the Ural at that time.
Mother Taisia's deep faith and love for God touched the hearts of people, including high-ranking officials.
