In Mozhaisk they honored the memory of the icon of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush”: the church and rescuers united in common prayertranslated

On September 17, 2026, a solemn prayer service was held in the Church of the Archangel Michael in the city of Mozhaisk in honor of the celebration of the memory of the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of God. This icon is traditionally revered as the patroness of firefighters and rescuers - a symbol of protection from the fiery elements.

Firefighters from the Mozhaisk district, as well as employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and rescue services took part in the service. Joint prayer has become a sign of the unity of the Church and those who daily guard the safety of citizens.

Among the honored guests of the event was Abbot David (Kurguzov), rector of the Luzhetsky Nativity of the Virgin Mary of the Ferapontov Monastery. The service was led by the rector of the church, priest Sergius Andriyanov, who addressed those gathered, emphasizing the importance of spiritual and practical service in the salvation of people.
