A children's Divine Liturgy took place at the Heirs camptranslated

On the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, a night Divine Liturgy took place in the children’s camp “Heirs” of the parish of the Transfiguration Cathedral of Smorgon. It was performed in the open air by the rector of the cathedral, Archpriest Anatoly Rezanovich, and the cleric, Priest Alexander Deshuk.

The day before, Father Anatoly helped the children prepare for the sacraments of Confession and Communion and answered their questions.

Both adults and children treated the preparation with reverence and responsibility. Schoolchildren wrote notes about their relatives and friends, fasted, independently read the rule for communion, and confessed. Teachers and students cleaned the area where the altar was later installed and decorated the place with wildflowers and candles.

During the liturgy, boys performed obedience in the altar, and girls read the Hours and sang in the choir. Archpriest Anatoly introduced the young wards of the camp to priestly vestments and spoke in more detail about the preparation of clergy for service.

At midnight the cry “Blessed is the Kingdom...” was heard, and a child’s pure prayer flew over the forest and Lake Vishnevsky. The unity of silence, nature and children’s singing did not leave parents and parishioners indifferent, who...

Daniel DumitrescuGood that they helped the children prepare seriously, with fasting, rule and confession, not just a formal liturgy. I especially liked that the boys served in the altar and the girls sang in the pew - you can see that they put their heart into it. How beautiful it must have been at midnight by the lake, with wildflowers and that silence.
