International Day of Older Persons reminds us of the attention and care that older generations especially need. In parish life this manifests itself in simple human participation, kind words and support.

On September 30, 2026, with the blessing of His Eminence Stephen, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, a charity event dedicated to this day was held at the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in the city of Gomel.

The cleric of the cathedral, Priest John Hare, congratulated the parishioners of the older generation, wished them God's help, strength of mental and physical strength, peace and prosperity. At the end, everyone was given a gift.
