The round table “Prison ministry: the place and role of religious organizations in the correction and rehabilitation of convicts” will be held on October 6 at 13:00 as part of the All-Russian forum “Legal Week in the Urals.” The organizers will be the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary and the Ural State Law University.
The event will bring together representatives of science, clergy of different faiths, and employees of the penal system to discuss the role of religious organizations in the correction of convicts and probation.
The speakers will be: Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary, Archpriest Pyotr Mangilev, Secretary of the Academic Council of the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary, teacher of the Ural State Law University, Hieromonk Prokopiy (Rudchenko), Assistant to the Head of the State Institution of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region for organizing work with believers, Archpriest Alexey Eliseev; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor, Vice-Rector of Ural State Law University Danil Nazipovich Sergeev.
