A monument to St. Sofian Bogiu was opened and consecrated in Edinettranslated

On September 16, in Edinet, a bronze monument to St. Sofian of Antima - Sofian Bogiu, a native of Old Cuconesti, Edinet region, was opened and consecrated. The consecration was performed by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova. Representatives of the clergy, district and city authorities and residents of Edinet gathered for the ceremony. The new monument has become another place associated with the memory of Sofian Bogiu in his homeland: in Old Cuconesti, Edinet district, there is a memorial museum, and a church dedicated to him is being built nearby.

The monument was consecrated by Metropolitan Vladimir

A bronze monument was erected in the center of Edinet. Its author is sculptor Vyacheslav Zhiglitsky.

The ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chisinau and All Moldova, Archbishop Nikodim of Edinet and Briceni, Bishop Patroclus of Donduseni, vicar of the Edinet-Briceni diocese, Archimandrite Nektariy (Herman), Archpriest Michael Borte and other representatives of the clergy.

Metropolitan Vladimir did not make a separate secular speech. His word was the service and the ceremony of consecrating the new monument.
