A strong fire occurred in the house of a rural priest from the Tara diocese of the Omsk regiontranslated

The dean of the Ust-Ishim church district, Priest Vladimir Mikhailov, and his wife, Mother Galina, turned to our foundation for help. We would really like to support fire victims and are opening a fundraiser under the “Improving Family Living” program so that they can purchase all the necessary materials to restore their home.

In December 2025, a severe fire occurred in the dilapidated parish house of Father Vladimir. The fire caused great damage: the internal structure of the house burned out, the stove completely collapsed, the roof collapsed, floors, windows and doors broke, the entire space was filled with an unbearable burning smell - a mixture of volatile compounds that are released when wood, plastic, and textiles burn, which remains to this day.

The parishioners of the Ust-Ishim Church of St. Nicholas were able to find temporary housing for the priest and mother, thanks to which they now continue to carry out their ministry. The population in the remote Siberian province, although not large, is full of believers and small rural churches, where a priest is always expected. Father Vladimir ministers to several parishes.

If it weren’t for the fire, Father Vladimir would not consider his current financial situation particularly disastrous...
