On September 1, 2026, on the Day of Knowledge, at the invitation of the director of the MAOU “Ozernovskaya Secondary School No. 3” Galina Vyacheslavovna Yazykina, the cleric of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Cathedral, priest Sergiy Cheremisin, visited the local secondary school.

Before the start of the ceremony, Father Sergius talked with Galina Vyacheslavovna.

During the ceremonial assembly, Father Sergius was given the floor. In his welcoming address, the priest spoke about the importance of educating each student, first and foremost, as a human being.

Father Sergius reminded those gathered about the act of the ancient philosopher Diogenes, who in broad daylight went out into the street with a lantern - in search of a person. Then the priest cited Nikolai Ivanovich Pirogov’s introduction from the book “Questions of Life.”

It is good that Father Sergius mentioned Diogenes and Pirogov, and not just general words. I especially liked how he connected "beauty will save the world" to seeing the image of God in the child, instead of trampling him with just a profession. I wonder what exactly director Yazykina said before the ambulance.

I think it is good that Father Sergius mentioned exactly Diogenes with the lantern and Dostoevsky's words. This about the "image of God" in children seemed to me the most important. I'm interested in what exactly Director Yazykina said before the ambulance, Peter.

I think you're right about that part of the "image of God" in children, George, that's the foundation. I also liked how he connected her with Diogenes, but I didn't understand why he didn't say a word about that conversation he had with Headmistress Yazykina before the ceremony started. Do you know maybe?
