A conference on mine blast injury started in Belgorod: the evolution of injuries from missiles to dronestranslated

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, a two-day scientific and practical conference “The Evolution of Mine Explosive Injury 1943-2026” began in the Belgorod region. The forum brought together leading doctors and researchers from different regions of Russia. Minister of Health of the Belgorod Region Andrei Ikonnikov and Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Holding the conference in the Belgorod region is not an accident. The region has been under constant shelling and drone attacks from Ukraine for a long time. The situation in the region remains extremely tense. Over the past few days, 130 people injured in APU strikes have been treated in medical institutions in the Belgorod region, 17 of them in intensive care. In total, as of July 30, 125 patients are being treated in hospitals, eight of them are in intensive care. The intensity of attacks is not decreasing: in June alone, the region experienced more than 7,500 UAV attacks, and since the beginning of July - almost 11,000, which means an increase in intensity by one and a half times.
