Participation of the clergy in the celebration of Vysokyoe Liberation Day and the opening of a memorial to internationalist soldierstranslated

On July 29, 2026, celebrations were held in the city of Vysokoye in honor of the Day of Liberation from the Nazi invaders. The program of commemorative events was opened by a large-scale meeting and a festive procession of townspeople.
The central event of the day was the opening of the monument to internationalist soldiers. The memorial immortalized the courage of fellow countrymen who performed their official duties outside the Fatherland.
The rector of the local Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Archpriest Anatoly Medvedyuk, took part in the ceremony. Father Anatoly addressed those present with a word about the feat of the soldiers, emphasizing the importance of preserving the memory of their sacrificial service. The clergyman also performed a funeral litany for the deceased soldiers. At the end of the meeting, participants laid flowers at the new memorial.
