“Work and sport are our friends”: “sports” Saturday at “Heirs”translated

On July 18, 2026, at Heirs, Saturday was held under the motto: “Work and sport are our friends.”

Like every morning at Heirs, this day began with water procedures and exercises, as well as with prayer and gratitude before the meal, and ended with a religious procession.

This time the children's leisure time was filled with interesting and fun activities: board games, sports competitions, competitions and awards for the best in each competition. In the evening after prayer, conversations with Fr. Anatoly on the topic: “Foul language is a bad habit for Christians,” and soulful songs with a guitar by the fire.

It’s no secret that the children’s camp “Heirs” has been gathering friends on the shores of Lake Vishnevskoye for more than 15 years. Life in the three detachments is organized according to all the canons of camp life: the guys live in tents, and a real field kitchen is responsible for preparing food.

It’s good that Father Anatoly spoke directly to the guys about foul language - this is a really bad habit, which is then difficult to get rid of. But sports competitions and awards are the right thing, in our Sunday school we also try to alternate between work and movement. Well done for staying on Lake Vishnevskoye for 15 years.

Thank you, Ilya, for sharing your experience - it stuck with me when I was young, too, until I started to pull myself together in the army. And their field kitchen is really great; in the heat, they usually prepare everything in the morning so that they don’t have to worry about it for lunch.
