With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol Tomorrow, celebrations will begin in Belgorod on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the canonization and the 35th anniversary of the second discovery of the relics of St. Joasaph, Bishop of Belgorod, wonderworker. In this part, we would like to talk in more detail about the history of the discovery of the holy relics of our Heavenly patron, because everything that happened to them is a real miracle. In 1990, the former lecturer of the Belgorod branch of the Knowledge Society, a resident of the city of Grayvoron, P.V. Maksimov, wrote a letter to Archbishop Juvenaly of Kursk and Belgorod, in which he spoke about the circumstances known to him related to the relics of St. Joasaph of Belgorod. “...After the opening of the relics in Belgorod,” wrote P.V. Maksimov, “they were sent to Moscow to the anti-religious museum, where they remained until the Patriotic War. After the war, a rumor spread that the relics were lost during one of the bombings.

However, when preparations were underway in Belgorod for the organization of a regional museum of local history, I learned that one of the atheist lecturers of the regional organization of the Knowledge Society was a member of the regional committee of the CPSU, Comrade.
