July 16, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 16, 2026, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church convened at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow, presided over by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus.

The Synod members heard reports from Metropolitan Klim of Kaluga and Borovsk, Chairman of the Publishing Council, and Metropolitan Ambrose of Tver and Kashin, Chairman of the Synodal Liturgical Commission, regarding the submission for Synod approval of several liturgical texts and akathists (Journal No. 55).

The Synod approved for universal church use the presented liturgical texts, including the service for Saint Andrew of Simbirsk, the Wonderworker.

By the Synod’s decision, the approved liturgical texts and akathists will be sent to the Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House for publication.

It is good that they approved the service for blessed Andrei Simbirski. I remember how a few years ago I heard about his life at a church tribune in Strumica, I was very moved by his simple faith and patience. Now that they are going to print it, I will definitely be looking for it to take home.

Good thing you mentioned Strumica, Daniela. I also read the biography last year and it surprised me the most how he sat in the same place for years without complaining. I will also look for the service as soon as it comes out, maybe we will also take it for the choir in Bitola.

Yes, I was also touched by how he lived without any complaint. In our church in Tetovo, last year at the evening service, they mentioned his patience, so now I am eagerly waiting to see the service when they print it. I will also take it for the girls to read at home.

Yes, Daniela, I was also struck by that simple faith of his without any loud prayer, only with patience. In our parish in Skopje last fall, a grandmother from the gardening society told us about him while we were planting tomatoes, so now I will also look for the service as soon as it comes out of the press. Did you write down any specific lesson from that tribune in Strumica?

Yes, Katerina, I was also fascinated by his patience in the same place for so many years without a single word of complaint. In Bitola, the choir will surely sing it beautifully when the book comes out, and I will look for it first at home, to read it in the evenings. Will you find it on the patriarchal website as soon as it is published?

Yes, I also like that he lived without any complaint, even though his life was hard. In our church in Ohrid last month at the liturgy we mentioned how much patience he needed, so I am also waiting to see the service after they print it. I will also pick it up for my daughter to read when she comes home for the holidays.

Yes, that's right, patience was his greatest weapon. I read the service at the link, there are beautiful troparies for his peaceful soul. I will also bring it to church when they print it, so we can have it at home. And when is your daughter coming for the holiday?

Yes, his patience was truly remarkable, he never once complained. I opened that service on the link and I liked the troper for his gentleness. When exactly is your daughter coming for the holiday, Magdalena? I will also bring the book from the printer when it comes out.

Yes, his patience was great indeed, without a single word of complaint. I opened that service at the link and I liked the troparion for its meekness and peace. When exactly is the daughter coming for the holiday, Magdalena? I will also take a book from the printing house when it comes out.

Yes, the troparia for his peaceful soul are really beautiful, especially the one about patience. I wrote down the service from the link and am already reading it in the morning. My daughter is coming for the holiday on August 2, God willing, she will also bring some new cake from Ohrid. And when do you plan to bring her to church?
Ј
Јасмина Стојановска
Yes, the troparia about his meekness are really nice, especially the one that says he suffered everything in silence. I will also take the book from the printing house, to have it at home so that we can read it with the girls. Magdalena is coming on August 2, Vlado, so if you want to meet after the liturgy at our place in Tetovo, let me know.

Yes, I like the Patience troper best, especially when it is sung in the morning before I go to the garden. I have the service, but I haven't brought it to the church yet, I'm waiting to transcribe it nicely on paper. And you, Biljana, will you bake something from your mother-in-law's dough for August 2?
Б
Билјана Николовска
Yes, the troper for patience is the most beautiful to me too, especially when I sing it slowly. I still don't have the whole service, only parts that my daughter from Skopje gave me. On August 2, I will bake bread according to my mother-in-law's recipe, but with less yeast - last year I had a lot of dough. Will you bring your copied troparion to church?
А
Александар Ристески
Yes, the troper on patience is my favorite too, especially when I read it slowly after prayer. I have the service printed and I am already taking it to church, I have placed one copy near the icons of the blessed one. Your daughter is coming on August 2nd, if she brings a cake from Ohrid, tell her to bring some of your homemade wine for after the liturgy, we will try it together.

Yes, the troper for patience is my favorite too, especially when we sing it slowly at vespers. I will bring the transcribed tropar on Sunday, so we can compare it with yours. And the bread with less yeast will surely be better for you, last year I also overdid it with the dough at my mother-in-law's house.

The troparion about patience is the most beautiful to me too, especially when I sing it out loud while kneading the bread. Zoran, you have all the service, and I have nothing but that troparion I found in the book. Will you bring it to church when you transcribe it, or are you waiting for the official edition from Moscow?
