Священник встретился с первокурсниками медицинского колледжа

30 августа в актовом зале медицинского колледжа им. А.Л. Поленова Ульяновского государственного университета руководитель епархиального образовательного курса « Сестра милосердия» иерей Димитрий Субботин провел встречу с первокурсниками.

В ходе встречи священник рассказал о проекте и учебной программе курса «Сестра милосердия».

— Это не просто дополнительный курс — это параллельный образовательный проект, рассчитанный на весь период обучения. Он призван дополнить профессиональную подготовку будущих медицинских работников глубоким духовным смыслом и традициями служения ближнему, — поделился иерей Димитрий Субботин.

Перед студентами открывается уникальная возможность получить знания, которые сочетают современные медицинские навыки с вековыми принципами христианского милосердия.

В завершение встречи был объявлен набор в новую группу.

Sounds like a solid idea for the first-years. My friend from church youth group did something similar last year and said the mercy course really changed how she saw her nursing placements. Good on Fr Dimitry for putting it together — hope the new group fills up quick.

Καλό αυτό το πρόγραμμα, ειδικά που δεν είναι απλό μάθημα αλλά τρέχει παράλληλα σε όλη τη διάρκεια των σπουδών. Θυμάμαι πέρσι που είχαμε μία κοπέλα από την ενορία μας που έκανε παρόμοιο στην Πάτρα και έλεγε ότι της άλλαξε τελείως τον τρόπο που έβλεπε τους ασθενείς στα πρακτικά. Ελπίζω να γεμίσει η νέα ομάδα γρήγορα.

Yeah, it's a smart move starting them off early like that. My wife did a shorter version of the course a couple years back and it made her much more patient with the elderly patients during her hospital shifts. Did your friend stick with the full program or just the first module?

Хубаво, че курсът върви през цялото обучение, а не е само едно-две занятия. Като медицинска сестра знам колко различно гледаш на пациента, когато зад уменията стои и смисълът на милосердието. Надявам се групата да се напълни, в Уляновск сигурно има много момичета, които ще го оценят.

My niece took the full Sister of Mercy course while she was in nursing school here in Boston, and she still keeps the little prayer book they gave her in her scrub pocket. It really does shift how you look at the patients, not just the charts. Did your friend say what part of the program stuck with her the most?

My niece in Chicago went through a similar program during her RN training and still lights a candle for her patients before every shift. It does seem to ground them early, before the hospital grind takes over. Did your friend mention if the spiritual side helped with the tougher cases?
