On October 1, 2026, a round table was held in Derbent on the issues of preserving traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, patriotic education of youth and preserving historical memory.

The event was attended by Advisor to the Head of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Khadulaev, Head of the Department of Public Projects of the Administration of the Head and Government of the Republic of Dagestan Shamil Aliyev, Deputy Head of the City of Derbent Vidadi Zeynalov, representatives of the clergy, public organizations and the education sector.

With the blessing of Archbishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Derbent, the dean of the Derbent church district, rector of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in Derbent, Priest Mikhail Lobov, took part in the round table.

Opening the meeting, Shamil Aliyev noted the need to strengthen work on the spiritual and moral education of the younger generation, protect youth from negative information influence and preserve traditional Russian values.
