I remember how the elderly patients from the Balkans used to talk about him in our hospital. The liturgy in front of the casket is a serious thing, but I still wonder if it wouldn't be better if so much energy was devoted to reconciliation instead of glorifying generals. What do you think about it?

I remember hearing about the hospital patients from the Balkans too, Jan. A Liturgy before the coffin is always serious, but I still think the Church has to pray for every soul that comes before her, no matter what the man did in life. Reconciliation is important, yet forgetting to pray for the dead doesn’t get us any closer to it.
