September 3, 2026 · 1 min read

On August 27, 2026, the traditional August meeting of education workers took place in Tyukalinsk. The chairman of the department of education and catechesis of the Tara diocese, rector of the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in the city of Tyukalinsk, Archpriest Dmitry Grishin, took part in it.

At the meeting, which brought together teachers, school leaders and representatives of the district administration, the results of the past school year and tasks for the coming one were discussed. The head of the Tyukalinsky district, Ivan Ivanovich Kutsevich, emphasized in his speech that teachers have a special responsibility - not only to give knowledge, but also to instill in children respect for the history and culture of their native land.

The meeting participants examined in detail new measures to support teachers: reduction of bureaucratic reporting, free legal assistance, a mentoring institute for young professionals, as well as the possibility of obtaining the title “Veteran of Labor” with 25 years of experience.

It was noted that from September 1, a course of spiritual and moral culture will be introduced in schools, as well as the transition to unified state textbooks on history and social studies.

Good thing that Father Dimitar Grishin was there and reminded about the choice of the module. Here in Tetovo, they also start with spiritual and moral culture from September, but people still hesitate whether to take "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture" or "Fundamentals of World Religions". Shortening those endless reports sounds like a real treat for teachers, at least they'll have time to breathe. And Ivan Ivanovich Kutsevich said well about the upbringing of children - the history of the homeland is not only learned from a book.

It's good that Father Dmitry Grishin was there and reminded about the choice of the module. Here in Plovdiv, they also introduced spiritual and moral culture last year, and most parents chose "Basics of Orthodox Culture". I wonder if it is the same in Tyukalinsk or if they prefer "World Religions". Reducing the bureaucracy is the best news for teachers, they will finally have time for the children.

In Nizhny, we also introduced such a course this year, and most parents chose “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture.” Father Dmitry correctly reminded us about choosing a module - without this, the children simply will not understand where we get our holidays and traditions from. And reducing paperwork for teachers is finally the point, thank you for writing.
