July 25, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 24, 2026, the rector of the Church of St. Nicholas of Japan in the agricultural town of Dubrova, Priest Evgeny Novik, conducted a tour for workers of the fire rescue squad No. 4, serving the Mozyr oil refinery, and the Mozyr linear production and dispatch station.

The priest introduced the guests to the structure of the Orthodox church, spoke about the icons and the life of St. Nicholas of Japan, the heavenly patron of the parish.

During the meeting, participants discussed issues of faith, spiritual life and human responsibility in everyday work.

At the end of the excursion, Priest Evgeniy Novik presented each participant with a holy image and wished God’s help in their ministry and work.

They did well to go to the church. I liked that the priest talked about Saint Nicholas the Japanese, I didn't know him well. I hope the image will help them in their work at the factory.

It is good that employees from the fire department and the control station visited the church in Dubrov. I liked that Father Yevgeny talked about the life of St. Nicholas of Japan - an interesting saint, few people know his story. Let the icons they gave out really help them in their daily work at the factory.

It's good that firefighters from this department and dispatchers from "Mozyria" found time to come to the church in Dubrova. Father Eugeniusz always talks interestingly about Saint. Nicholas of Japan, I once heard about his life in Japan and how he built the first Orthodox churches. May these pictures he gave them really help in their hard work at the plant.

Yes, Father Eugeniusz can really talk interestingly, especially about how Saint. Nicholas himself carried the beams for the construction of the first church in Hakodate. Firefighters from Mozyria probably rarely have time for such matters, so it's even more respectable that they came. I wonder if any of them asked anything else after the meeting?

Yes, this story about the beams in Hakodate always surprises me - an ordinary man with so much perseverance. The firefighters are probably barely on duty after such a shift, so the fact that they came says a lot about them. And you, Janek, how do you know these details about Father Eugeniusz?

Yes, this story about the beams in Hakodate shows that the saint was not afraid of dirty work. Firefighters from Mozyria probably barely stand after duty, but they came anyway - respect. Janek, have you ever been on such a trip with Father Eugeniusz?
