Smorgon rescuers gathered for a joint prayer in front of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “Burning Bush”translated

On September 18, employees of the Smorgon regional department for emergency situations, together with their families, arrived at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord for a prayer service with an akathist at the icon of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush”. The prayer service was performed by the dean of the Smorgon district, Archpriest Anatoly Rezanovich.

Uniting in prayer, representatives of the region's rescue department asked the Lord for prosperity, peace, harmony and unity, as well as for the protection of all who guard the security of the country.

– “The Burning Bush” protects every employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is no coincidence that the eight-pointed star is one of the elements of the symbol of our department,” noted First Deputy Head of the district department Sergei Kreslo, “every time when eliminating emergency situations, the rescuer counts not only on his professionalism, but also hopes on God’s grace, which helps us and does not leave us

in difficult times.

After the service, Archpriest Anatoly Rezanovich sprinkled everyone present with Holy water, talked and blessed the rescuers and their relatives with icons, and also wished that the icon would become support in carrying out the difficult work of saving people’s lives...
