Word from Archbishop Stephen on the Day of Older Personstranslated

Dear brothers and sisters!
Today we turn with special warmth to people of the older generation - our parents, grandparents, older relatives, parishioners and all those who have come a long way in life.
Behind them are decades of work, caring for families, trials and joys. Their life experience, patience, loyalty to loved ones and many years of work deserve our deep respect and gratitude.
Scripture reminds us:
“Rise up before the gray head and honor the face of the old man” (Lev. 19:32)
These words call us not only to respect, but also to constantly care for our elders.
It is especially important to remember those who are feeling lonely today, need help, or are simply waiting for a kind word. Call your parents, visit an elderly person, help with everyday activities, listen - sometimes it is these simple acts that become the most necessary support.
Caring for the older generation should not be limited to one day on the calendar.
For a Christian, it is a natural manifestation of love for one's neighbor and gratitude to those who have done much for their families, society and our country.
With all my heart I wish all people of the older generation spiritual and physical strength...
