Saint Siluan is the spiritual protector of two Romanian hierarchstranslated

St. Cuthbert Siluan, celebrated on Thursday, is the spiritual protector of the Bishops of Hungary and Italy.

Bishop Siluan of Hungary, Hierarch, was born on September 16, 1971 in Lipova, Arad County, to parents Constantin and Joița, receiving the name Christian Constantin at baptism.

Between 1990-1994 he attended the Faculty of Theology "Andrei Şaguna" in Sibiu, where he graduated with his thesis titled: "Jesus' Prayer in Syrian Tradition".

On August 11, 1995, he was tonsured into monasticism at the Hodoș-Bodrog Monastery in Arad County, by the Preb. Father Timotei, Bishop of Arad, born in monastic service to the Very Reverend Father Serafim, Metropolitan of Germany, Central Europe and North.

On August 13, 1995, he was ordained deacon by the Very Reverend Father Serafim, and on December 13, 1995, he was ordained hieromonk and appointed spiritual director by Preb. Father Timotei.

Bishop of Hungary Upon the establishment of the Romanian Schism at Körösszakál (Săcalul de Criș) in Transylvania, he was appointed hegumen of this schism with church "The Dormition of the Mother of God" on April 6, 2002.
