Archpriest Pavel Frolov appointed dean of churches in the Achinsk districttranslated

By the decree of Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk dated September 2, the dean of the churches of the Sharypov district, the rector of the Cathedral of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the city of Sharypov, Archpriest Pavel Frolov was appointed dean of the churches of the Achinsk district, the rector of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the city of Achinsk and the rector of the Church of the Holy Righteous Daniel of Achinsk, maintaining the previous obediences.

The decree of the head of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolis was read by the secretary of the Krasnoyarsk diocese, rector of the Cathedral of the city of Krasnoyarsk, Archpriest Vladimir Dorosh at meetings of the clergy in the Sharypov and Achinsk deaneries on September 7.

In the Sharypovsky deanery, before the start of the official part, a funeral litany was held. The clergy prayed for the newly deceased mitred archpriest Evgeniy Frolov, former dean of the Achinsk district, and his wife Mother Svetlana. Then Father Vladimir conveyed a blessing from Metropolitan Nikita to those gathered and reminded them of the importance of worthy behavior of clergy, their responsibility and discipline both in the church and in everyday life. I wish father Pavle Frolov new obedience. The Trinity Cathedral in Sharpovo was well known, now it is also close to the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of Achinsk and the Cathedral of Daniel Achinelli. They did the right thing when they celebrated litia for Father Yevgeny Frolov and Matushka Svetlana, eternal memory for them.

Father Paul has a lot on his plate now, keeping his old duties in Sharypovo while taking on the Kazan cathedral and St. Daniel’s in Achinsk. It was good they prayed the litia for Fr. Eugene and Matushka Svetlana before the meeting; their memory is still fresh for many of us. I wonder how Fr. Vasily Popovsky will manage as the new assistant.

Father Paul’s certainly got his hands full juggling both districts. I was at the Sharypovo meeting and the litia for Fr. Eugene and Matushka Svetlana felt right; a lot of the older clergy still remember serving under him. Do you know if Fr. Vasily will keep his parish in addition to the assistant duties?

I also agree with Father Pavle's new appointment, he is a good priest and the Trinity Cathedral in Sharpovo was really organized. The funeral of Father Yevgeny and Matushka Svetlana was organized very properly, the news of their death was unexpected for me as well. Vakhtang, how did you know Father Eugene's work in Achin?
