On September 27, the annual pedagogical council was held at the Apostle spiritual and educational center on the topic “Analysis of the work of Sunday schools: Christian teaching about man and the challenges of modern technologies.”

52 people took part in the work of the pedagogical council: specialists from the diocesan department of religious education and catechesis, parish rectors, directors and teachers of Sunday schools of the Simbirsk diocese.

The Pedagogical Council opened the report of the head of the diocesan department of religious education and catechesis, Priest Andrei Kiryushkin. Father Andrey summed up the results of the preparatory stage for the beginning of the school year and presented the representatives of the parishes with certification sheets signed by Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky. He also reported on upcoming scheduled inspections and thanked teachers for their efforts.

The director of the Sunday school “Guiding Star” at the church in the name of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir, Vera Zheltysheva, spoke about the normative and methodological support. She provided an overview of the current state of Sunday schools and presented new teaching aids.
