Thanks for sharing this. The part where he thanks the bishop for managing the monastery really stuck with me — it’s good to see that kind of appreciation for the day-to-day work that keeps these places going. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Don icon after seeing it during a trip to Moscow a few years back.

Yes, thanks for posting. I especially remember how the Patriarch thanked the bishop for managing the monastery - this is correct, without such daily work the monastery simply would not exist. Just last week we sang the Troparion Donskoy in our choir, so the text of the sermon is now especially interesting to read.
