Local proclamation of the Holy Lady Maria Brâncoveanu: The churches helped by the saint received reliquary iconstranslated

The local proclamation of the canonization of the Holy Lady Maria Brâncoveanu took place on Sunday at the "St. Gheorghe" Church - Nou in the Capital. The churches founded and helped by the saint received icons with a fragment of her holy relics.

Among these are the "St. Nicholas" Church from a day in the capital, the Berivoi, Hurezi, Surpatele, Viforâta and Dintr un lemn monasteries.

The Holy Liturgy on this occasion was officiated by a council of bishops consisting of Archbishop Cassian of Lower Danube, Patriarchal Vicar Bishops Varlaam Ploieșteanul and Paisie Sinaitul, Vicar Bishop Timotei Prahoveanul of the Archdiocese of Bucharest and Vicar Bishop Ilarion Făgărășanul of the Archdiocese of Sibiu.

Synodal Tomos The official act of proclamation was presented to the faithful by His Holiness Father Casian, Archbishop of the Lower Danube.

"Saint Maria Brâncoveanu endured prison, contempt, hunger and deprivation, but did not fall into despair, but strengthened herself through prayer and hope in God," the proclamation tomos states.
