The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, sent a message on Sunday on the occasion of the local proclamation of the canonization of Saint Magdalene at the Mălainita Monastery in Serbia. "It remains a symbol of devotion and steadfastness," the head of state emphasized.

The message of the President of Romania was read by Eugen Tomac, honorary presidential advisor for relations with Romanians everywhere. Nicușor Dan highlighted the significance of the local proclamation for the Romanian community in Valea Timocului and for the Romanian Orthodox Church.

"The local proclamation of the canonization of St. Magdalena from Malainita is a celebration of faith, but also of the memory and continuity of a community that, over the generations, has preserved its identity, traditions and connection with its spiritual values ​​with dignity."
