"In our villages today we may no longer find doctors or teachers, notaries or engineers. The priest and the priestess are the people who help the community the most, taking care of the elderly, taking care of the sick and taking care of the needy", said Metropolitan Ioan Banatului on Saturday, at the first meeting of the priestesses in Protoieria Făget.

His Eminence urged each parish to adopt a family in difficulty, to support both materially and spiritually, emphasizing the importance of the involvement of the priest's family in the life of the parish, especially in social-philanthropic activity

Father Metropolitan Ioan emphasized that a particularly important role in the life of the community is also played by the priest's children, who, through their behavior and life, are called to be models of Christian living in the parish.
