Feast of the Holy Prophet Elijahtranslated

On August 2, in the Staisky forest of the Ushachi district, the rector of the parish of the Church of the Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, Archpriest Vyacheslav Lobets, performed a divine service in honor of the holy prophet Elijah.

Every year on this date, pilgrims flock here in large numbers not only from Ushachsky, but also from Lepelsky, Glubokoye, Polotsk districts, Vitebsk and Molodechno. Even the rain did not stop people from gathering for conscientious prayer at the spring of the Prophet Elijah, in which the head of the department of ideology and youth affairs of the Ushachi district executive committee, Pyotr Alekseenok, also took part.

After reading the akathist to the holy prophet Elijah, a water-blessing prayer service and the traditional sacrament of baptism for this day were served.

Many people who did not have time for the service come to the source later to get water for themselves and their relatives.
