Festive prayer service at the worship Cross in the village of Telepnevotranslated

On September 26, on the eve of the celebration of the World Exaltation of the Honest and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the rector of the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Mansurovo, Archpriest Vadim Sorokin, served a festive prayer service at the worship cross installed not far from the destroyed stone Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in the village of Telepnevo. Church parishioners attended the prayer service.

Historical background: At the end of the 16th century, the village of Telepnevo with the wooden Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was in the possession of the Moscow Novinsky Monastery. During the Time of Troubles, the church was destroyed, but already in 1643 a new wooden church of the same dedication was erected in the village. The brick church was built in the 1860s. financed by A. G. Spasskaya according to a project close to exemplary. Adjacent to the single-domed quadrangle was a refectory with Nikolsky and Aleksievsky chapels and a three-tiered hipped bell tower. Under the church there was the Spassky tomb. In July 1933, a decision was made to close the church, and later the church was destroyed.
