The transfer of the relics of the holy noble prince Alexander Nevsky took place 301 years ago. This difficult journey began in August 1723 and lasted almost a month and a half. Then the shrine was kept for a year in the Oreshek fortress in Shlisselburg. On September 12, 1724 (according to the new style), with the personal participation of Peter I, the ark with the relics of the blessed prince Alexander Nevsky was transferred to the monastery established by the emperor (now the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra).

This year marks 301 years since that transfer. It is interesting that the relics lay in Oreshka for a whole year, until Peter personally transferred them to the new monastery. We also have the relics of Alexander Nevsky in the cathedral in Kazan; I always try to stop by to pray when I pass by.
