Orthodox teenagers from Akhtubinsk celebrated the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with a rallytranslated

Prikhody.ru 09/28/2026. The Feast of the Exaltation of the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord became the day of meeting of Orthodox teenagers in the city of Akhtubinsk (Astrakhan region), first at a liturgy in the church, and then at a recreation center on the banks of the Akhtuba River.

After the Divine Liturgy, the children visited the museum, where exhibits about everyday life and life in the Soviet era were collected. The children were especially interested in bicycles and motorcycles, irons, toys and furniture of the last century. Then, at the recreation center, activity began on ingenuity, creativity and endurance. All participants of the rally were divided into four teams by age and each group performed various tasks: they came up with their own name and motto, solved tourist puzzles and tests on Orthodox themes. The elders created posters and recorded on them what they expect from Sunday school classes. Most of all, teenagers want to learn prayer and communication with God. The culmination of the sports part was the traditional battle - tug of war, where the strength and cohesion of the guys was especially demonstrated.

The competition ended... with a hearty lunch with tea from a samovar on pine cones, according to the diocese's public page on the social network VKontakte. Then it was organized...
