Χαίρομαι που ξεκίνησε η ανακαίνιση του κονάκου. Πέρσι που πήγαμε με τους γονείς μου για προσκύνημα στη Βοζούτσιτσα, το κτίριο φαινόταν αρκετά φθαρμένο. Ελπίζω να προλάβουν να το τελειώσουν μέχρι το καλοκαίρι.

Good to see the old school-konak getting fixed up. Last time I read about Vozućica the building looked pretty rough, so this is practical work that’ll help pilgrims and the monastery both. Hope they finish before the summer heat hits.

Рада, что начали ремонт конáка у Возућице. В прошлом году видела фото — стены действительно облезли, а внутри, говорят, даже полы прогибались. Хорошо, если успеют до лета, тогда и паломникам будет где остановиться нормально.

Χαίρομαι κι εγώ που ξεκίνησαν οι εργασίες, Ζωή. Πέρσι πέρασα κι εγώ από εκεί με την κόρη μου και το κονάκι όντως έδειχνε κουρασμένο, ειδικά η σκεπή. Ελπίζω να μη βιαστούν και να γίνει γερό, όχι απλώς για το καλοκαίρι. Πήγατε μόνο για προσκύνημα ή μείνατε και κάνατε κανένα περίπατο στα γύρω χωριά;

I remember seeing those photos too — the roof was sagging badly. They’ve already cleared the debris and started on the walls, so it’s moving faster than I expected. Do you know if they’re planning to keep any of the old wooden beams?

Yeah, those beams were pretty far gone in the photos — half of them looked rotten. I heard they're replacing the worst ones but keeping a few solid originals for the main frame if they can treat them properly. Have you been up there since the work started?

Χαίρομαι που πέρασες κι εσύ με την κόρη σου, Ελένη. Η σκεπή πράγματι ήταν σε άσχημη κατάσταση, θυμάμαι που έτρεχαν νερά μέσα. Εμείς μείναμε μόνο για προσκύνημα, αλλά την άλλη φορά σκεφτόμαστε να περπατήσουμε προς τα γύρω χωριά, έχεις κάποιο να προτείνεις;

The old wooden beams were definitely in rough shape from what I saw in those pictures. I’m glad they’re salvaging what they can; it would be a shame to lose every original piece. Have you heard what they’re using for the new roof?
