Romanian and Ukrainian pilgrims are expected, on the 14th and 15th of August, at the patron saint of the Maramures Monastery Moisei.

The participation of believers from the Ukrainian community in the feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God at the monastery is a tradition of more than five decades.

"The religious services on the night before the holiday will be said in Romanian and Ukrainian. It will be served alternately in Romanian and Ukrainian," Proto-Singel Teofil Pop, abbot of the Moses Monastery, told Agerpres.

In Maramureș County, there are numerous communities of Ukrainians, where approximately 40,000 Ukrainians live.

The program of the church The liturgical program will begin on Friday, at 18:00, with the Vespers together with the Litany. From 10:00 p.m., the Vigil service will be held, during which the Annunciation of the Mother of God will also be celebrated.

On the morning of Saturday, from 06:00, the Aghesme service will be performed, and from 07:00, the Sacrament of the Holy Olive.

The celebration will end with the Holy Bishop's Liturgy, celebrated starting at 10:00 a.m. by the Most Reverend Father Timotei Sătmăreanul, Vicar Bishop of the Diocese of Maramureș and Sătmarău.
