Patriarch of Antioch receives Cyprus Foreign Ministry Political Affairs Director in Damascus

Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East received Thessalia Schiavou, Director of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, and the accompanying delegation at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus.

During the meeting, Patriarch John warmly welcomed the Cypriot delegation, and discussions focused on the current situation in the region, as well as issues of mutual interest.

The talks also highlighted the historic ties between Cyprus and the Patriarchate of Antioch, underscoring the longstanding spiritual and ecclesiastical relationship that has united the Church of Antioch and the island of Cyprus for centuries.

The meeting took place in the context of ongoing regional developments and reaffirmed the importance of maintaining close relations and dialogue between the Patriarchate of Antioch and the Republic of Cyprus.
