Pilgrimage to the shrines of the city of Braslavtranslated

With the blessing of the rector, Archpriest Alexander Shakhovich, on August 14, on the day of the celebration of the Origin (destruction) of the Venerable Trees of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, a pilgrimage trip took place from the parish of the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Novopolotsk to the shrines of the city of Braslav.
The Lake District, located in the north-west of the Polotsk diocese, has been striking everyone with its unique atmosphere of peace, harmony and beauty since ancient times.
Novopolotsk residents visited the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Braslav. Having shared the joy of joint prayer at the Divine Liturgy and the water-blessing prayer service, the pilgrims were able to purchase honey from the new harvest, which, according to Orthodox tradition, is blessed annually on this day.
After the end of the service, a meeting took place with the dean of the Braslav church district, Archpriest Mikhail Koleda. The priest gave a tour of the church, introducing everyone to its history and ancient icons.
