Clergy representing several canonical Orthodox Churches in Canada gathered on Saturday, 18 July, in Windsor, Ontario, to honour St John Maximovitch, the patron saint of the Windsor-Essex Orthodox Clergy Brotherhood.

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated at St George and St Andrew Șaguna Cathedral in Windsor by His Grace Bishop Ioan Casian of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada, together with Romanian, Greek, Serbian, Macedonian, and American clergy.

It's good that the service was held at the cathedral of St. George and St. Andrei Shaguna in Windsor. I liked what Bishop Ioan Casian said about the mission of St. Ioan Maximovici here in North America - it's a good example for us too. Congratulations to Father Corneliu Andrașco for the first patronal feast of the Fraternity.

Yes, the service at Windsor Cathedral was beautiful, especially as I was also there with a colleague from the parish. What Bishop Ioan Casian said about how St. Ioan Maximovic prayed at night and helped anyone, regardless of language, seemed to me the most practical for us drivers who travel a lot in Canada. What do you say, Father Corneliu, shall we do an agape next time?
