Official Delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Vatican (VIDEO)

The Roman Catholic Church today celebrates the Feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul, its patron saints and the patron saints of the Italian capital.
During the solemn Mass celebrated at St. Peter’s Basilica, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that “Peter’s example is also a call to every Christian to help build unity, to choose God as the central point of reference in life, and always to walk alongside our brothers and sisters.”
“Communion within the Church is not built by stubbornly clinging to our own positions, but by seeking, in every heart, points of encounter through the truth, in whose light we become instruments of mutual enrichment and growth,” the Pontiff added.
An official delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate attended the Divine Liturgy at St. Peter’s Basilica. The delegation was headed by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Chairman of the Synodal Commission of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for Relations with the Roman Catholic Church, and also included the Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Patriarch’s Private Office, and Patriarchal Deacon Anatolios Doxastakis. The delegation is expected to hold a private audience with Pope Leo tomorrow.
