I read that at the "Кампанъ" festival bell ringers from several dioceses came and played old bells together. I wonder if they also used the bells from the monasteries around Moscow, I would have liked to hear their real sound, not just recorded.
Our parish bell-ringer, old man Pavel, was telling me the other day that the big “Кампанъ” festival really did bring in ringers from all over, and they used the ancient set from the Trinity Lavra near Moscow. He said the low bass bell there hits you right in the chest when it swings. Wish I could have stood there and heard it live instead of on a phone recording.
