An icon that survived a fire encourages solidarity with a large family from Botoșani countytranslated

"Sometimes, even after the greatest disaster, something remains that reminds us not to lose hope. This icon was found by Botoșani firefighters in a room consumed by fire, where almost everything had been destroyed. It remained partially intact", the representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Botoșani recently wrote on Facebook.

The fire consumed the hard-built house of a family with six children from the town of Agafton, in the town of Curtești, Botoșani. However, the face of the Baby Jesus painted in the icon remained unburnt by the flames - as a message of hope, Botošan firefighters noted.

"For some it may be a mere coincidence, for others a sign. Regardless of how we choose to look at this image, it reminds us that hope, faith and the strength to move forward can survive even the hardest trials," ISU representatives said.

An icon painted by the father of six children Priestess Anamaria Macuc, the wife of Father Marian Macuc, the parish priest of the Pacea Church in Botoșani, has known the affected family for several years and wrote the story of the icon on social networks.
