The conversation with schoolchildren was dedicated to the human soul, responsibility for one’s thoughts, words and actions. The priest reminded the children that Christianity speaks of man not only as a physical being: the body has a limit to earthly life, and the soul is immortal. Using simple life examples, the priest explained how lies, envy, swear words and unkind deeds gradually leave a mark on a person’s soul. What sometimes seems insignificant and remains hidden from others does not disappear without a trace.

Archpriest Nikolai Stepanov paid special attention to repentance. Just as a person takes care of the cleanliness of his body and clothes every day, he must learn to notice his own mistakes, resist sin and sincerely ask God for forgiveness. Such internal work gradually becomes a good habit and helps a person to be more attentive to his life.
