Magnificent litany in Corfu to commemorate the miracle of Agios Spyridontranslated

With the established magnificence of the Corfu tradition, on the morning of Tuesday, August 11, 2026, the sacred tabernacle of the Saint and miracle worker Spyridon was litanized in the context of the events commemorating the miracle of the rescue of Corfu from the siege of the Ottoman Turks on August 11, 1716 thanks to the miraculous intervention of Saint Spyridon . The procession was attended by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Halkidos, Isteaia and Northern Sporades, Mr. Chrysostomos, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Gortynos and Megalopolis, Mr. Nikiforos, the Most Reverend Bishop of Kotiaios, Mr. Dionysios, assistant to the Metropolitan of Italy, the Most Reverend Bishop of Andido, Mr. Isidoros, Professor of the School of Theology of EKPA, and the relevant Pastor His Eminence Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontian Islands Mr. Nektarios.

A large number of people followed the Saint and prayed during the procession of his stage, while the Greek government was represented by the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy, Mr. Stefanos Gikas.

The Regional Governor of the Ionian Islands, Mr. Ioannis Trepeklis, also participated, the deputies of the Prefecture, Mr. Biagis and Avlonitis, the Mayor of Central Corfu and Diapontian Islands...
