Timothy of Thessalio: The Virgin Mary, our Mother and her mission for the salvation of mantranslated

On the evening of Wednesday, August 12, 2026, His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Timotheus officiated at the Vespers service and the Holy Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, in the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of Mouzaki. During the Mass, special mention was made of the liturgical order of the day, as the Vespers of the Atonement of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord was celebrated, while afterwards the Holy Supplication to the Most Holy Theotokos was chanted.

In his sermon he referred to the importance of the mission of the Virgin Mary and the Saints and how it is connected with the mystery of the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He emphasized that Christ is the only true Mediator between God and men, being himself perfect God and perfect man. With His incarnation He assumed human nature and became like us, without ceasing to be God, so that He could fully understand the human condition and bring about the salvation of man.
