Report office ope.gr A message of remembrance, peace and respect to all who inhabit and share the land of Republika Srpska was sent from Mrkonić Grad, Bosnia-Herzegovina by the Patriarch of Serbia, Mr. Porphyrios during the anniversary events marking the 31st anniversary of Operation Storm which resulted in thousands of Serbs losing their lives and more than 250,000 being driven from their ancestral homes by Croatian military and police forces during the 1995 civil war.

In the presence of the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republika Srpska, members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Presidents of the Assemblies of the Republic of Serbia and the Republika Srpska, as well as Milorad Dodik, His Holiness first referred to the commemoration of the terrible persecution of the Serbian people and comes to embrace all those who still bear the wound of this unprecedented exile on the soil of Europe in the twentieth century.
