Philotheus of Thessaloniki: May peace come to the long-suffering territory of the Patriarchate of Antiochtranslated

September 8, 2026 · 1 min read

On the afternoon of Monday, September 7, in the Holy Sanctuary of Genesios of Theotokos Panorama, the Solemn High Priestly Vespers was held, which was presided over by the Theophilous Bishop of Hierapolis, Mr. Arsenios, from the Patriarchate of Antioch, and the Pastor, Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, who also preached divine reason. The Bishop thanked His Holiness Mr. Arsenios for his presence.

The Pastor Mr. Philotheos wished for peace to come to the long-suffering territory of the Patriarchate of Antioch.

In addition to the women's brotherhood, a large number of believers participated in the Panigiri.

The Holy Sanctuary of Genesiou of Theotokos is one of the most populous Monasteries in Northern Greece. Its founder was the blessed Archimandrite Father Symeon Kragiopoulos, whose spiritual children are the sisters who live in this holy place in Thessaloniki.

May God grant that peace may truly come to Syria and throughout the Patriarchate of Antioch, because too many have suffered there. I was happy to see that Bishop Arsenios served together with Metropolitan Filotheos at Panorama - it's nice when such concrete union is shown. Thanks for the news.
