Bishop Tamiss officiated in Klaipedatranslated

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, His Eminence Bishop of Tamissou Mr. Panaretos, Patriarchal Exarch of Lithuania, visited Klaipeda and presided over the Divine Liturgy in the Parish of Saint George, which is housed in the chapel of the University of Klaipeda. The vicar of the parish, Fr. George Ananief, collaborated with Theofilestatos. The faithful of the Orthodox community of Klaipeda participated in the Divine Liturgy by praying.
It was the first visit of Bishop Panaretos to the parish after his appointment as Patriarchal Exarch of Lithuania. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Bishop, the vicar and the parishioners all sat together at a common bench. In a cordial atmosphere, the faithful had the opportunity to chat with their Bishop and get to know him better.
Sunday's Gospel reading was Christ's parable of the merciless servant, to whom his master gave a huge debt, while he refused to forgive the much smaller debt of his servant. Bishop Panaretos also prepared for this day a sermon on God's mercy, forgiveness and freedom from grudge.
