September 4: Prophet Moses celebratestranslated

Today we honor the memory of the Prophet Moses, the Hieromartyr Babylus of Antioch, the three thousand six hundred and twenty eight Martyrs and Saint Hermione, one of the daughters of the Apostle Philip. Moses was born in Egypt around 1569 BC. When Pharaoh ordered that the newborn boys of the Israelites be killed, his mother put him in a box and abandoned him on the banks of the Nile. He was found by Thermuthin, Pharaoh's daughter, who adopted him, giving him the name Moses, which means "rescued from the waters". He was brought up as the true son of the princess, and was taught all the wisdom and knowledge of the Egyptians, without alienating himself from the faith of his fathers and the love of the Jewish nation.

He killed an Egyptian who had attacked an Israelite. He escaped to the land of Midian, where he became a shepherd and married Zipporah and they had two sons.

It is interesting that Moses was found precisely on the Nile and was called “saved from the water.” How could he later, as an adult, not forget the faith of his ancestors while living in the royal house? Thanks for the article, I always read about him in a new way.
